Lord of the Flies
Chapter 10 “The Shell and the Glasses”
Perspective: Simon
I observed Jacks camp. He seems to rule his people with an “Iron fist” so to speak. He rewards them with meat. He and his people take pleasure in watching living beings suffer. He makes his people dark, and demented. I wish piggy could some how illuminate them. Piggy is definitely the wisest on the island now. Jack is brutal even to his own tribe. He took poor Wilson, tied him up, and beat him senseless. He has no morels. I'm sure his tribe has no theological division. For that would require morels. He is overall brutal and ruthless, and expects his own people to be that way too.
While observing Jack, I noticed he plotting something with Maurice and Roger. They were planing to raid Ralf's tribe for fire. They didn't succeed. They did however get something better. They got Piggy's glasses. That is the equivalent of having fire and taking fire away from Ralf's tribe, so as long as they keep the glasses.
Jack, Maurice, and Rodger carried out their plan of raiding Ralf's tribe of fire. When they approached Ralf's camp, Jack yelled out for Piggy to come out of the shelter. Then Ralf, Sam, Eric, and Piggy got up and started unknowingly beating each other up, thinking they were beating up Jack and his group. Jack made off with Piggy's glasses, not fire, purge free.
I like how you formatted yours. How Simon was talking about how he over heard it and how he talked as if it was in the past. Also you did a really good job of putting your own feelings into Simon's.
