Lord of the Flies
Chapter 9 “A View to a Death”
The flies in Simon's old spot feast off the rotting pig head, or, The Lord of the Flies, as it's called.
Simon decided to go to Jack's camp where most, if not all the boys were at the time.
Simon took the figure from the mountainside and brought it down to were the boys had gathered.
Piggy suggest that he and Ralf go to Jacks party.
Piggy was burnt, witch seemed to bring laughter to all the boys, and with that good laugh, they accepted Piggy and Ralf.
Jack claims that the conch has no rule/effect on his part of the island.
The whether toward the end of the party is rainy.
They sing “Kill the pig, cut his throat, spill his blood!”
Simon emerges from the jungle with the secret of the beast.

Who Killed Simon?
I think that the entire group killed Simon. One reason is because the entire group got caught up in a mood of hype, and excitement, and would pretty much join in on anything someone started. I think someone made the first call, and said it was the beast, and when they started stabbing it, everybody just joined in. No one stopped to think about what they were doing, and really observe even if it was the beast. They were in-fact stabbing Simon, not the beast. They were in hype because Jack had them dance and act as if they were hunting and killing a pig, it was that excitement and lack of observation that killed Simon, and this is my evidence to support that claim. To support my claim I also recall the book say that they realized that “even in the rain, they could see how small a beast it was.” This supports my claim of lack of observation. They said this after they had killed the beast. So in conclusion, Simon was killed by the group's lack of observation, and hype. In Simon's vision of heaven, he probably imagines a phosphorescence environment. The group couldn't have thought Simon was corpulent because they didn't really observe him till he was dead.
