Lord of the Flies

Chapter 12 “Cry of the Hunters”

Perspective: Piggy's ghost

While observing the children on the island, I noticed that Ralf had hid in a thicket of bushes and creeper near Castle rock, so that Jacks tribe would not find him. Before Ralf went into the thicket, he covertly spoke in secret to Sam and Eric. Before he was about to go and hide in the ticket, he was given a slab of meat by Sam and Eric. I find it sad that Sam and Eric joined Jacks tribe because they were beaten and tortured, and didn't have a chance. Rodger has prepared Ralf a sharpened stick, with devious intentions in mind. Jacks tribe flushed Ralf from hiding by pushing large boulders onto Ralf's shelter until is was crushed, and he was forced to get out. During the pursuit of Ralf, Jacks tribe would use ululations to communicate. When Ralf flees to the beach, he discovers the Naval officer carrying a revolver and a drill made coat, and epaulettes. Jack appears on the beach with his painted face and holding Piggy's glasses. Percival has seemed to have forgotten his name and address. Ralf takes responsibility by saying to the naval officer that he is the leader. The boys appeared in front of the naval officer with destined bellies like savages. The naval officer is disappointed because he though they were playing a game until Ralf was serious about two deaths, and was not diddling.
